When Junior Wise was told the seed company he worked for was closing, he and his wife, Guelda, took a leap of faith and purchased the fallen company’s equipment. In 1969 they began the Wise Seed Company. Nearly forty years and three generations later, Wise Seed Company, Inc. still prides itself as a business built on integrity, honesty and perseverance.
Sons: Doug, Rudy and Clint as well as grandsons Jim, Tony, Clint Jr., and Justin are now responsible for day to day operations of Wise Seed Company. Overseeing the planting, growing, harvesting, processing and sales of all seeds including millets, grain rye, bahia, and aeschynomene (the largest producer in the country). Wise Seed Company also imports specialty grasses including Mulato, a high protein grass hailing from researchers in Brazil.
